Shashi Tharoor's views on postcolonialism

Postcolonial perspective and Shashi Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor is member of parliament, he given postcolonial argument. He written a book on that 'An Era of Darkness'. He asserts that Britishers are not developers of any colonies. According to him real Thugs Of Hindustan were Britishers, in the name of free trade they are looting the Indians. In a way the word loot is a Hindi word and they taking the word in their dictionary. This is how Shashi Tharoor make a satire on British Empire.

#Shashi Tharoor make claims that, when the Britishers were left in 1947 from India, 90% of the population living below the poverty line. The growth rate of India from 1900 to 1947 was 0.001%. Britishers imposed taxes on the import of Indian textile. In real sense they make fool of Indians in the name of business and achieved captive market at the point of gun.

#Economic situation of the colonies were worst by the experience of british colonialism. They started exporting raw materials from India and shipping back manufactured cloth and the result was, the weavers in India become beggars.
Shashi Tharoor make a satire by giving this sentence, "The sun never sets of the British Empire because, even God couldn't trust the English in the dark"

#In the case of education they claim that we raised the education level but, the truth India developed Institute of Technology, colleges for engineering were established after independence. American historians travelled and point out that the universities were less than half from the high school budgets of New York.

Dehumanizing of Africa and Caribbean, psychological damage happen that has been done by British colonisers. Even today many of problems in these countries, like racial and religious tension were the effect of colonialism.

Do you agree with it?                                 Yes, I'm agree with the Eliot's views. He point out the tradition as that the tradition is matter of much wider significance. It cannot be inherited, you must obtained it by  great labour. Talent has no connections with the inhabitants, we have to work hard to catch the talent.                   Being a part of tradition we have to do great labour, it involves historical sense which involves appreciation not only of the pastness of past but also it's presence. 2  What do you understand by Historical Sense?                 " The historical sense involves a perception, not only of the pastness of the past, but of its pre...
